What can we say but BRAVO!! Buxton produces some high quality dopp kits, and this one is the proof. For the price the quality couldn’t be better. The leather and zippers are pretty solid, it has a good inner lining and it’s also water resistant. This traditional dopp kit seems a lot more costly than it actually is. Great travel kit

I wanted an attractive, water-resistant kit made of quality leather that felt solid. That is what I got. Ignore any negative reviews. Great product.
Solid zippers, good inner lining, high quality leather top, good water-resistant nylon bottom. Looks much more expensive than it is.

This is a great little dopp kit. My husband specifically wanted a leather dopp kit like the one his father had. This bag is just the right size and the quality of the leather is very good. He will get many years of use out of this little bag.
Disappointed

I was disappointed the moment I saw this product arrive. It is “just barely” leather. I would have guessed it wasn’t and for me that means it might as well not be. It needs to feel like leather to be leather. Other than that, it is massive and completely out of proportions; though that is my fault as I could have checked the dimensions. I only hope time will prove it to be durable, hence the 2 starts.

This product is outstanding and the price on Amazon can not be beat. Buxton owns the rights to the Dopp name and produces these “official Dopp” kits. The leather is good, feels solid and well stitched, but you can also get them in a slightly less expensive PVC leatherette version. You can also find these in some stores although the ones I found were double in price. Sometimes the bottoms are leather and sometimes the bottoms were a beaded plastic. Frankly I made sure to get the beaded plastic as it will last longer than a leather bottom. The key features if this Dopp kit are: 1) Construction feels solid. (Although the tag says made in China…you would feel better if it had a proud to be made in the USA tag…however, I don’t think this is an issue here.) The leather and stitching feels strong. The zipper is a hefty enough piece of metal that will last. The leather handle is small enough that it fits under the fold of the kit’s side if you do not want to use it. The inside is a traditional liner with a single razor pouch, however, the liner and pouch feel like they are made of a newer composite plastic material than the older plastic liners these type of kits used to have. The liner feels stronger and I doubt it will rip, which often happened with travel kits. 2) It has Dopp stamped on it, on two flaps/tabs. The tabs are aesthetic choices but look good and remind you that you have a “real” Dopp and not some random “Men’s Toiletry Bag.” There are newer types of “Dopp” kit’s out there made out of nylon mesh. If you like that I would recommend something by L.L. Bean or Swiss Army. But for something more traditional I would only recommend this brand right here…
Fake Leather?

I wasn’t sure if the Dopp Kitt was real or fake leather at first. But my girlfriend convinced me that it was real leather. I am buying 2 more of these for my twin sons for Christmas gifts.
Dopp Travel Kit

I love the old Dopp kit I have, except that the lining was all shredded after 30 years of reliable service. The new one I hope will serve me well, I just wish they did not shrink it to fit the new travel standards for the overhead luggage requirements.
DOPP traditional leather kit

This was a long over due replacement for the Dopp kit that was given to me when I left for Vietnam. Its changed very little and is still of fine quality. I expect it will provide all the use I’ll ever need.
